eBay Advertising Announces Alex Marks as Head of Business Marketing

Industry heavyweight in the driving seat of eBay Advertising’s international B2B marketing

eBay Advertising today announces Alex Marks as Head of Business Marketing for eBay Advertising International, as the company prepares for continued growth in the year ahead.

Alex will be responsible for developing eBay Advertising’s marketing strategy across the UK and international markets to help boost awareness, amongst advertisers and media agencies, of the powerful opportunities eBay delivers to brand advertisers to reach engaged, purchase-minded consumers across the biggest collection of verticals on the web.

He brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having spent almost three years as Head of UK Marketing at Microsoft Advertising. He also has over 10 years experience on the agency and client side, including a Marketing Director role at i-level where he was responsible for developing the company’s marketing and new business strategy.

Alex will work in close collaboration with the eBay Advertising sales directors across the UK and international markets, to ensure continued development and effective communication of internal and external marketing strategies to maximise revenue opportunities for eBay.

Alex Marks said: "I'm delighted to be joining eBay Advertising. Despite the tough economy, I believe eBay is one of the biggest untapped advertising opportunities on the web for brand advertisers. I very much look forward to working with the team to help grow the business in these challenging but exciting times".

Christian Kunz, Director of eBay Advertising International, said: "We're thrilled to have Alex on board and have no doubt that his wealth of experience will be hugely valuable in helping us drive the eBay Advertising business forward".

Alex's appointment comes during a period of expansion for eBay's advertising business internationally and particularly in the UK, which has seen ten consecutive quarters of strong growth as the lead advertising market in Europe.
